A Modern Boho Glamping Wedding in the Mountains

We loved every single thing about working on Annabelle and Paul’s boho glamping wedding at Under Canvas Smoky Mountains. When we first met with the bride and her awesome destination wedding planner Gabby from Cause We Can Events, we fell in love with her style and the idea of renting out any entire mountain glamping retreat to host all the wedding guests.

Annabelle and Paul are an outdoorsy, easy-going couple, so they wanted their big day to reflect their personality. And by hiring a pro like Gabby who has produced destination weddings like this at the other Under Canvas locations, they were ensuring a relaxed weekend for themselves and their guests. Rather than a stressful morning of hair and make-up and a rushed schedule, the couple chose rejuvenating activities like yoga and hiking. Even just hours before exchanging vows, you could find the two enjoying the morning with their friends and two pups.

For the flowers, Annabelle chose lots of warm colors and earth tones for that boho glamping wedding vibe. We included lots of fall grassy varieties as well as dried bleached foliage for great texture. The show-stopper was a magical Pampas Grass Ceremony Crescent that blew in the wind with perfection while the couple exchanged vows. For the wooden tables of the reception, we did simple clear and amber bud vases with all those grassy and dried textures Annabelle loved. And for her bouquet, Pampas Grass, Copper Amaranthus, Blackberry Scabiosa, Eucalytpus and of course Protea as the focal point for that funky boho texture!

At the time of planning, we did not realize that this would be the venue’s very FIRST glamping wedding. Under Canvas has several glamping retreat locations across the country in areas like Moab, Zion, Yellowstone, and Grand Canyon, but the Great Smoky Mountain location in Pigeon Forge is fairly new. It was an absolute honor to be chosen as their very first glamping wedding florist, and we’re already in talks about working on another one real soon!
