This March, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with some of my favorite area wedding vendors on a styled shoot featuring a colorful wedding theme of warm tones contrasted with lavender.

Colorful Wedding Ideas
Styled shoots allow us as wedding vendors the opportunity to flex our creative muscles and showcase something we want to do more of in the future. For me, the primary goal was to showcase a colorful wedding! For so long, we’ve seen nothing but neutrals in the wedding industry. And as much as I have loved the elegance a toned down color scheme had brought to our weddings, I’m definitely ready to lean into the new trends of more color. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t anticipate seeing circus-like tacky color schemes. Rather, we’ll be looking for ways to incorporate a sophisticated and well-thought-out color pallet into our floral proposals. Colors elegant enough to be used at a wedding can be curated several different ways:
So for this colorful wedding shoot, I collaborated with a Photographer, Stephanie Kozick from Emerald + Ivy Photo, who took on the task of scouting out a couple to model for us as the bride and groom. She also coordinated with the mobile bar from Single Barrel Events. I reached out to Parkside Hall because it is a fairly new venue in Chattanooga, but it’s owned by the same people as the Turnbull Building. We’ve done MANY events at the Turnbull, so I already knew they’re great to work with. With it’s abundance of natural light, white walls, and wooden and terra cotta tile accents, Parkside Hall was going to be the perfect blank canvas for our colorful wedding style!
Colorful Wedding Ceremony
For the ceremony set-up, we created a simply asymmetrical floral installation on the venue’s lovely outdoor patio fireplace. I LOVE how the terracotta tiles pulled even more warm tones into the photos. That was a happy accident! We did all of this using foam-free mechanics as a part of our continuing efforts to be more environmentally friendly.
Colorful Wedding Centerpieces
Then we flipped the space to set up a head table full of floral centerpieces. We started with standard white compote centerpieces in a colorful garden-style. Then, we added in some smaller Ikebana style centerpieces.
Ikebana is the centuries-old Japanese art of arranging flowers. The practice, which roughly translates to ‘making flowers come alive,’ uses carefully selected blossoms, greenery and other flora to convey a specific feeling or emotion to an observer – just as a painting or sculpture might.

Colorful Wedding Details
This was my first time doing a floral pocket square for the groom, and I just LOVED how it turned out. I’m definitely going to suggest this to all my future clients. What a great way to do something a little special for the groom, while giving the rest of the guys the standard boutonniere.
Tasteful Gatherings came and set up a table with delicious charcuterie, fruit and appetizers! I loved how they focused on fresh and brightly colored foods to fit with the Springy colorful wedding theme!
The invitation suite came from Minted, a great resource for all your wedding paper goods as well as your wedding website! I ordered several samples, and ended up going with the Fleur design in the color “Amethest” for that perfect gardeny feel. I did the wax seal using all products from Amazon (link to follow): Seal, Wax, Ribbon, Dried Lavender. The beautiful 1.25 Ct Pear-shaped Moissanite Ring in those detail photos came from Forever Moissanite.
