What should I wear to an outdoor fall wedding?
How should I dress for a wedding at a hotel?
What should I wear to a boho wedding?
Can I wear Jeans to a wedding?

These are questions that wedding guests everywhere are asking themselves, their friends, and their significant others constantly!  I’ve been in the wedding industry for almost 10 years, so I thought I’d offer some modern-day, real life suggestions on how to be dressed appropriately for any wedding scenario!

A Fall Wedding With A Sophisticated Mauve Color Palette

I absolutely loved the color pallet and style of this wedding! The bride originally had in mind all white flowers with eucalyptus greenery only. However, when she showed me her well-thought-out color pallet with all those gorgeous mauve tones, I knew there was an opportunity to bring in some super subtle color and gardeny greens to round out the sophistication. The bride gave my color/floral suggestions serious thought and ultimately decided to trust me to do something a little bit different than she had originally planned. I’m SO glad she did. This combination resulted in a truly UNIQUE mix that you don’t see just anywhere.

We loved every single thing about working on Annabelle and Paul’s boho wedding at Under Canvas Smoky Mountains. When we first met with the bride and her awesome destination wedding planner Gabby from Cause We Can Events, we fell in love with her style and the idea of renting out any entire mountain glamping retreat to host all the wedding guests.

Classic style at The Venue Chattanooga

I think it goes without saying that the bridal bouquet from Natalie and Clay’s wedding was a show stopper.  Natalie was absolutely in love with peonies for her traditional-style bouquet. However, for her late August wedding, we knew they may be difficult to get as peonies are at the end of their season.  As an alternative, we ordered these peach David Austin Juliet Garden Roses just in case, which are so stunning on their own.  Along with some special peony-style roses and eucalyptus greenery, the overall look came together just as we had hoped.  We were able to get our hands on just a select few white peonies to use very strategically throughout the bouquets.  And at delivery, I asked the bride if she could tell which were the actual peonies and which where the alternates.  Her answer: “No, I love them all!”

A Sentimental Garden-Style Wedding at the Bride’s Childhood Camp

In our first meeting, the bride’s mother explained to me the sentimental value of the venue they had chosen: Camp DeSoto in Mentone, Alabama, located about an hour South of Chattanooga.  The bride’s father had worked on the camp grounds all her life, while she attended girl’s camp every single summer of her childhood.  The family still has many close ties to the camp, so it was an obvious choice for Kelsey and Ryan’s big day.

Top Fall Wedding Flowers

It would be easy to think that if you’re having a fall wedding, that your flowers would need to fit a traditional fall decor style (think pumpkins, wheat, burnt orange and yellow blooms). However, there are SO many different amazing modern styles and color pallets that work in the Fall.  As a floral designer, it is always my job to help by clients find a floral and decor look that fits their personal style perfectly.  You don’t have to wear cowboy boots and get married in a barn with your guests sitting on bales of hay to throw a seasonally appropriate event (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

The most popular floral color we see in the fall is burgundy.  But as you can see, there are SO many beautiful ways to play with that color pallet!
