Coaching + Resources

Hey friends, I’m Stephanie Lang, owner and founder of Lang Floral Designs. For 10+ years now, I have been growing Lang Floral Designs from the ground up. I knew I could design beautiful things, but I started out with NO business knowledge. A couple of years in I was burnt out and struggling to attract my ideal client…sound familiar?

Years ago, I made some serious changes to my business to take back control, book the right weddings, and create a strategy for further growth. Over the past decade, I’ve made a lot of mistakes, and figured a lot of things out along the way. I’d love to help you accelerate your business growth by sharing my knowledge with you.

My approach

Listen, I made all the mistakes in the book! For years I didn’t pay myself a consistent salary, I took any work that came my way, I let my clients walk all over me, I dropped my prices in crippling fear that if I wasn’t the cheapest, brides would go elsewhere, and I ran myself ragged trying to build this business into the dream career I hoped it could be.

After years of struggling upward, and having two babies in the meantime, I HAD to get serious and take back control of my business. I already had a reputation of doing beautiful work, I just had to figure out how to attract and book the right clients who valued my work, so I could continue doing the work I loved without feeling burnt out and helpless.

After a relentless year of pivoting my entire business, I took back control and created a business structure that actually serves myself, my clients and my family well. Seriously, go read our reviews. My clients love working with us because I have a process down to make sure they’re highly impressed with us before we even show up with flowers on the day of their wedding.

Since 2018, I’ve been running my business from a place of strategy and passion. I am able to set sales goals each year, reach those goals, and more importantly, protect my calendar so that I can be present for my myself and my family when it’s most important.

Yes friend, it’s actually possible to own a business in the wedding industry and also have a good work-life balance! I truly want that for you too. I take almost the entire summer break off now to be home with my kids, and I make good money. This is unheard of in the wedding industry. I don’t take weddings on family birthday weekends or holiday weekends. I book 10-20 good weddings a year, my website ranks among the TOP 2 local wedding florists in the Chattanooga area, I receive far more inquiries than I move forward with, so I’m able to hand select the projects that I’m excited about.

If you LOVE this work but need some help, or are just starting out, I’d love to chat. Let’s work together to build a business around a life you’ll love!

RESOURCES

Below are a few easy-to-grab resources that will set you up for success as a wedding floral designer. I’ve spent 10+ years developing a wealth of knowledge on how to run a successful home-bases business.

I use these resources almost daily in my own business, and they have been a game-changer for helping me reach my goals more quickly.

Yearly Event Spreadsheet

This is my yearly “money” spreadsheet. Different than “book keeping” which tracks money as it comes in, I use this to keep track of each events in a calendar year. I add each wedding or event into this spreadsheet when it gets booked so that I can see where I am on my sales goal for the year, how much I’ve spent per event, what I need to pay in Sales Tax each month, etc.

I use this spreadsheet almost every day!

My Ultimate Sourcing Guide

A directory of everything from ribbon and chicken wire, to software and online resources, this is my exhaustive list of everything I use in my 10+ years of experience as a wedding floral designer.
